Heineken, which jointly with Vijaya Malaya owns UB Ltd, the maker of Kingfisher beer, has now approached lenders with a proposal to buy out all of Mallya’s shares in United Breweries that are pledged with them. Heineken and Mallya are jointly owns 43.4%, and 30% respectively. This step will help Heineken to own majority stake in the company. Though the macro environment is not in favour of liquor makers, this step will have a positive sentimental impact on UB related stocks. Keep an eye on UB holding, United Breweries, and McDowell holdings
